It contains 96% water and 100gm of it contains around 12Kcal. It is rich in iron and also has vitamins C and B complex.
It has sodium of 1.8mg per 100gm and 87 mg of potassium making it suitable vegetable for hypertensive patients. It is excellent for light, low-cal diets, as well as for small children, people with digestive problems and diabetics.
Ingredients:
1. Aanapakaya(Bottle Gourd) Cut into small cubes -- 1Cup
2. Sour Curd --1/2Cup
3. Tomato(Diced) -- 1/4Cup
4. Coriander Seeds -- 2tbsp
5. Cumin Seeds -- 1tbsp
6. Channa Dal -- 4tbsp
7. Salt -- To Taste
8. Green Chilli -- 5
9. Ginger(Finely Chopped) -- 1tbsp
10. Oil -- 2tbsp
For Tampering: 1. Mustard Seeds -- 1tbsp

Method To Prepare:
1. First pressure cook Tomato and Bottle Gourd Pieces upto 3 Whistles.
2. Now heat Oil in a pan and add Channa Dal, Coriander Seeds, Cumin Seeds and Ginger. Fry them till they turn into slight brown color.
3. Then remove it from heat and let it cool. Later grind it into a fine paste by adding 2-3tbsp of Curd.
4. Now again heat Oil in other pan and add Mustard Seeds, Curry Leaves and Green Chilli.
5. When the splutter, add the cooked bottle gourd and tomato pieces to it. Also add the paste which we have made earlier.
6. Now add 1 or 2 Cups of Water to it and also add Salt. Mix it well and let it boil for atleast 10-15min.
7. Finally Tasty Aanapakaya Majjiga Pulusu is Ready To Serve.
Serve it Hot with Plain Rice..............
