UGADI PACHADI


UGADI:  Yugadi or Ugadi is known as Samvatsaradi in Telugu. Ugadi is the New Year's Day for the People in Deccan Region of India. The name Yugadi or Ugadi is derived from the Sanskrit Words "Yuga" and "Adi" Which means "Age" and "Beginning" (The Beginning of New Age).
It falls on a different day every year. The Telugu Calender begins with the Month of Chiatra (March to April) and Ugadi is Celebrated on the First Day of the New Year. Chaitra is the First Month in the Panchangam.

UGADI PACHADI:
On the Day of Ugadi people will make a specific mixture of Six different Tastes called Ugadi Pachadi. It symbolizes the face that life is a mixture of different experiences (Sadness, Happiness, Anger, Fear, Disgust And Surprise) which should be accepted together through the Year.

This Ugadi Pachadi consists of:
  1. Neem Flowers for its Bitterness - Sadness
  2. Jaggery and Ripe Bananas for Sweetness - Happiness
  3. Red Chilli Powder for its Hot Taste - Anger
  4. Salt for Saltiness - Fear
  5. Tamarind Jucie for its Sourness - Disgust
  6. Raw Mango for its Tang - Surprise.
Now lets see the Recipe of  Ugadi Pachadi.


Ingredients:
1. Neem Flowers
2. Raw Mango
3. Tamarind Juice -- 1/2Cup
4. Jaggery
5. Ripe Banana
6. Salt
7. Red Chilli Powder
8. Grapes



Method To Prepare:
1. First Soak the Tamarind for 10min and extract juice from it by adding 1/2Cup of Water.
2. Then add all other ingredients to the Tamarind Juice and Mix it Well.
3. Finally Our Traditional Ugadi Pachadi is Ready.
